E-safety and Cyber-Bullying

From the Foundation Stage through to Year 6, children at The Grange are instructed on how to keep themselves safe online through 'Digital Literacy & Citizenship' sessions. Through activities such as Circle Time discussion and role-play, children gain a deeper understanding of the potential risks that they could face online.

These risks are known as the '5 Cs':


  • Spam

  • Personal Information

  • Identify Theft

  • Blackmail


  • Inappropriate images

  • Self harm

  • Misinformation

  • Violent, hate, terrorism


  • Trolling (leaving abusive messages)

  • Self-trolling (deliberately encouraging abusive comments as a means of self-harm)

  • Online Bullying

  • Hate, illegal activities

  • Risky behaviours



  • Grooming, online abuse

  • Victimisation, stalking

  • Criminal contact

  • Child sexual exploitation


  • Sending abusive messages, comments, images/videos

  •  Trolling
