British Values at The Grange
At The Grange, we actively promote and embody British Values as an integral part of our school culture, curriculum, and daily life. British Values are not taught as a stand-alone topic; they are embedded across all subjects, relationships and experiences so that pupils understand what it means to be a respectful, responsible and active member of a diverse society.
Our shared ethos, The Grange Way, underpins everything we do and reflects the principles of British Values in action: kindness, respect, responsibility, fairness and community.
Our Intent
We aim for all pupils to:
-
Understand and respect democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs
-
Develop their own moral compass and sense of justice
-
Recognise their rights and responsibilities as citizens
-
Value diversity and celebrate difference
-
Feel confident to express their views respectfully
-
Understand how their actions impact others and the wider world
Through this, pupils develop the knowledge, attitudes and character needed to contribute positively to modern Britain.
