Providing your child with outstanding care in a warm home from home setting before and after the school day. The Orchard provides a safe, relaxed and fun environment. We can guarantee stimulating activities to meet the needs of all children – giving them home comforts and healthy food choices.
Our Before and After-school provision is located on our school premises, offering an easy, reliable, and practical solution for your child’s before and after-school care needs run by Grange staff members allowing for continuity of provision.
Our aim is to provide a structured, supervised environment enabling children to choose their own activities at the beginning and end of their school day.
We cater for all ages and interests and have created designated areas for specific activities such as arts and crafts, role play, construction, and imagination, providing opportunities for children to explore their creativity and imagination. We also have a quiet area where children can chill out and read on the sofa, play boardgames and complete jigsaws.
We encourage outdoor activities whenever the weather allows, in our outdoor playground area, providing children with opportunity to get some fresh air and run off some steam after all their hard work at school. Activities such as ball games, group games and exploring nature are just some of our outdoor activities we enjoy.
Breakfast Club is an opportunity for children to set themselves up for a successful day at school with a good hearty breakfast and stimulating activities. Children are offered a variety of breakfast choices and will then go out for a morning play. The last 5 minutes of breakfast club is dedicated to quiet reading where children will be supported in reading where necessary. This is a time for us to make sure that all children are ready to enter their classes calmly and ready to learn. For children in Foundation and Key Stage 1, our staff will accompany them to their classrooms for the beginning of the school day ensuring that they are organised and happy.

Early Breakfast Club Times 7.30 - 8.30 £8.50 per session
Breakfast Club Times 7.45 - 8.30 £7.00 per session
After-School Club provision opens from 3.15pm each afternoon. All children are escorted by a member of Grange staff, from their individual classes.
During the sessions the children will receive a biscuit and a healthy light meal.
Early Birds (3:15pm – 4:45pm) - £10.00 per session
Night Owls (3:15pm – 6:00pm) - £13.00 per session
The Orchard is available for any child attending The Grange or St. John's from Foundation Stage to Year 6. All sessions are booked through your child's ParentPay account.
When booking sessions, you will need to select from the drop-down menu; "Breakfast" to book Breakfast Club sessions, "Afternoon" to book an Early Bird session and "After School" to book a Night Owls session. Sessions.
You will be able to book into any Breakfast Club or AfterSchool Club up to the Wednesday night prior to the week you wish to book for. After that time you will need to email / call the School Office to place a booking and a £2 charge will be added to your account. We do have limited space in each session so it is advisable to book on early.
Fees are payable at the time of booking on Parent Pay.

Due to demand for places, we require 7 days’ notice to cancel a session. Sessions cancelled without 7 days’ notice will still be charged.
