Remote Learning
Remote Learning
At The Grange Community Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that all our pupils continue to learn and thrive—even when they are unable to attend school in person. Our remote learning procedures are designed to provide continuity, structure, and support for every child.
Our Approach
In the event of school closure, pupil absence due to illness, or the need to isolate, we provide a well-balanced remote learning offer that mirrors the curriculum being taught in school. This includes:
-
Daily lessons in English, maths, and foundation subjects
-
A blend of live teaching, recorded videos, and independent activities
-
Regular opportunities for feedback, interaction, and celebration of success
Platforms We Use
We use the following tools to support remote learning:
-
MS Teams (KS1 & KS2) – for uploading work, accessing lessons, and teacher communication
-
Tapestry (EYFS and KS1) – for sharing home learning activities and celebrating progress
-
ParentHub – for ongoing communication with parents and carers
Support for Families
We recognise that every family’s circumstances are different. We offer:
-
Loan devices and printed learning packs where needed
-
Guidance for parents to help them support their child’s learning at home
-
Regular check-ins from class teachers and support staff
-
Access to well-being resources and SEND support
Staying Connected
Our remote learning is not just about lessons—it’s about staying connected. We ensure that pupils continue to feel part of the school community through:
-
Online assemblies and story times
-
Class messages and celebration boards
-
Opportunities to share achievements and creative work
Safeguarding and Inclusion
Safeguarding remains our top priority. All staff follow our remote safeguarding protocols, and we ensure that all pupils—including those with SEND and EAL—receive tailored support to access learning effectively.
For more information or support with remote learning, please contact the school office or speak to your child’s class teacher.
